FINISHED! Another Pace RC200 Rescue Thread

Re:

So, ignoring the slight issue with the seatpost for the minute, this is now officially a bike again. Brakes need bedding in but I've even gone so far as to attach the flashing ball bag of glory to the saddle.

(will come back to the saddle issue in a couple of days, am bodging!)

So here she is, back from beyond after much effort from Dan, ready for Mayhem. As in, ready BEFORE Mayhem for a change.

Re:

Nice job!

Can you make a shim for the seat post? I’ve used drinks cans in the past or foil from take-away trays where the clearances are very small.

Spec so far:
Pace RC200 F8 frame
Pace RC36 Stealth forks
Pace stem, Go Fast bars
Hope M4 / Mono Mini brakes
Hope XC / Mavic 317 wheels
Raceface cranks and rings, DMR V12 pedals
Shimano XT 750 9 speed shifters, XTfront mech, XTR 950 rear mech
Zoom lightweight seat post, Flight Ti saddle

Its a rider not a garage queen so all the parts are used and will be used more, but still to do properly:
Bars are fine but not good enough, I'll bag some better ones at some point
Seat-post isn't quite right, have a syncros one on the way
Brakes, I'll look to get the M4 caliper on the back too. And the silver +20mm adapter on the back will become black next time we get a sunny day. And something to hold the hose across the top tube I think too.

Thought about it, not tried it. As you say its a small difference in the diameter so could be a fiddle but I'll give it a go.

I have a black Syncros post that needs a bit of attention that fits fine, so I think I'll use that for now.

Proper test ride time on Friday morning. Lovely spin around the forest. Look at that view. Marvellous.

Only real issue was a binding rear brake which got rather tiresome, everything else worked a treat. Felt good to get out at last

Re:

Rides well.

I'm short in the legs department so tend towards smaller frames. Length feels fine, not too short and a reasonable length stem so it doesn't feel too small.

I have a F8 19" frame waiting for building, then I can do a bit of back-to-back comparison and decide which I prefer.
