Yes the black stem is original and the inners on the bars are also black. The shifters are indexed. I know what you mean about the seat post and stem not matching but the idea of a black seat post seems odd to me. I will have a look to see if I have one to try out. Anyway I will have a decent ride out on it tomorrow to see what she feels like. I am a little worried that she might be a little too small for me at 57cm, my usual size is 58cm and I often find older frames comfortable at 60cm, we shall see.

Edit: Looking at the photos I think I might have taken the rear brake cable the wrong way around the headtube!
