I bought this Bromwich from Greenstix7 a few months ago, totally gutted as only ridden it 5 times it's annoyingly just slightly the wrong size for me - enough not to ride it. So up for sale again. Here's some of the the original advert:
"Reluctant sale of my cherished Bromwich MTB, custom made for me in '91 by Jim Macilwayne in Coventry.
Beautiful fillet brazed frame/fork in Reynolds 531 All Terrain tubing. The forks are made from oversized 531 A/T. Something Jim was trying at the time.
Obviously been used, only raced twice back in the day, but it's the original paint apart from the B/B area where it's been rubbed down and re painted. B/B is still silky smooth as is the headset. It's always been cherished, cleaned, always kept indoors. Will be extremely sad to sell but would rather see someone get some use out of it.
What can I say, great bike, would suit someone 5'7" to 5'10, i'm 6 ft and it's too small. I was 16 when it was built!
Top Tube c/c is 21.5 inches
B/B to top of seat tube is 19.5 inches."
I did change the T-bone stem to try to get a better position, new stem is a rare Nitto twin bolt, hardly used, I also put on a pair of I think 10 degree swept back bars from a Nishiki Alien as I found the old ones too narrow. (I can pass on the old bars, buyer decides which stem they want).
Other changes: I put a correct 27.2 seatpost instead of the 27.0, buyer can have both.
Swapped the saddle to a Yellow Turbo.
Swapped wheels for Ritchey Vantage Comp/ Deore DX on IRC Mythos gumwalls. Buyer can also have the old gumwall slicks. I think that's about it.
Original Deore XT: cranks, pedals, mechs, shifters, levers.
I've kept the bike indoors and not ridden in the rain, basically it's in the same condition as when I got it - really very nice. Would like this to go to a retrobike rider if possible.
£400 posted or £370 London pick-up.

Kind of hard to photograph that sparkly green paint, check the original advert for better pics.
