Welcome to RBotM February 2025!
We will kick off the year on an Open Month meaning anything retro, road and belonging to a member is good to enter.
The only fine print being that any previous open month winning bike is excluded :(

So with the weather getting warmer here in the north and people getting back out on their bikes, there has never been a better time for taking a couple of photos, add a couple of sentences explaining your entry and bang! you're in.
After a great year last year and some amazing machines coming onboard I am really looking forward to seeing what enters this year.
Thanks

Jamie

Here's one I took earlier ;)

I may as well get things started this month with my latest build, this 1983 Mercian Olympic. I bought the frameset from someone who grew up near Mercian Cycles, and he had bought it locally himself. I've taken it a little further North, but it's not gone too far from home. It's my retro autumn/spring/nice winter days ride.

The build thread is here.

Looks like there's room for another entry, so I'll play with what is probably the wrongest bike on the forum by most people's standards: my retro-modded late seventies Halfords Sport.

The only reason for its existence is that it was the only frame I had available that would comfortably take the 650B wheels and tyres I wanted to give a try. I used whatever parts I had on hand to make it look "nice", i.e. something that would - at least from a safe distance - look like it was from the heyday of 650B touring.

It ended up being the bike I took to France last year for a cycling vacation and also on a trip to Belgium because, well, it rode rather nicely. Much nicer in fact than most of my other bikes.
