Fausto Coppi

After having one track bike and beater decided to put together roadbike.
At first bought Batavus Professional complete bike with shimano 600 tricolor/ultegra group.
Swaped bars for compact ones, put on my spare miche seatpost and borrowed flite from beater. But eventualy frame was too big for me.
This is how it looked:

Sold frameset to buy Coppi, sorted 27.0 campy seatpost, changed cable housings and tires.
Final build:

Fausto Coppi Columbus Thron tubing.
Parts: Shimano 600 tricolor 8 sp group, 600 hubs on open pro/ambrosio rims, campy nuovo record seatpost, flite ti, tange hs, specialized expert bars.
Hi from Latvia!

Any info about frame?

Gave it back quill stem and handlebars to match.
Procraft Road Pro bars and Cinelli 1 E stem (was not able to get DA 7400 stem on bars).

Quill definetly is improvement. Needed to sell/buy some parts first and get hold of compact 26.0 bars. Totally worth the effort!
Rides lovely. Responsive and Columbus Thron tubes are surprisingly stiff even compared to oversized tube alloy track frame.

Re:

Welcome to the forum ;)

Nice Coppi to start you off. Think it's a mid '90s frameset, as it's in the colours of the MG Technogym race team.
Looks so much nicer than the yellow Polti version.
At last, someone else who has their brake cables the right way around!
You may be able to get a cover for your left STI lever, I've seen some Dura Ace ones on eBay, so may be some Ultegra ones about too.
Personally, I think the ITM Eclypse stems look good on a bike like this. The plating goes with the chroming on the frame, and they look racey too!
But that's only my personal opinion , enjoy riding it, first and foremost

Mike

Thanks!
That ITM stem does look nice indeed. One on local forum went for 5 euros. Luckily that was 100 mm, would be gutted now if that were 90 mm. Original idea was 600 groupset with da 7400 finishing kit. But oh well...
