Classy. Can't beat a 1x setup. I had a 1x9 Campagnolo setup for commuting and loved it. Nice looking steed she has!

All of our bikes have had only one chainring in front for about ten years now. Mainly because of lazyness, I just never have had the patience to properly dig into the world of front derailleurs. Everything nice and simple like this. Chains has been dropped a couple of times but that's the price I'm willing to pay for fd-free life!

Very late update.

Last year I managed to locate a long lusted after and beautiful Shamal wheelset for this bike. The price was cheap as chips as the rear rim had some hairline cracks (because of the low spoke count, you know the story). However as the wheels were completely true, the spoke tension was still good, the bearings buttery smooth and with a little tinkering I was able to fit a 9 speed rear cassette the bike was ridden with the dangerous wheelset for a year.

Front tyre is Grand Bois Cerf 28-622 but on the back I had to put Vittoria Corsa 25-622 as the Grand Bois was too big to fit!
