Guys,

Just been talking to a guy that has a 92 wicked frame in a cherry colour that he wants rid off.

Naturally i said i would do some digging before offering it up for sale.

The info i have is that its a frame with a syncros seat tube, xt headset and matching uni crown fork.

It has some heel rub on the chain stay, no dents and is overall in very good nic.

Well, as i couldn't find anything on exact colours in the catalogue scans i thought i would ask first.

Just needed to know before offering it for sale.

26.4 syncros seatposts and and stock Wicked forks are not that easy to come by, so that's a plus.

Does it have a bottom bracket and seat clamp?

Check the bottom of the seat tube with a light for rust.

I thought the wicked's came with a 29.4 seatpost ?

As im finding out, if it has a press in BB,these are a sod also to find, so if present a real bonus too

------>1990 pressed-in BB
1991-----> threaded-in BB

What's the serial number on the underside (sometimes top side) of the BB? Can potentially tell a bunch.

You forgot Monsters, which were 26.4 and Wicked-based, then 26.4 and Yo-based... Then they had a short 29.4 spell before becoming the Buckshaver.

And threaded BBs weren't until '92 in my experience (a bunch of press-in 91s, and threaded 92 and 93).

I've never owned a monster; I was just writing on my personal experience from what I've owned. I've owned a 91 fat (a Yo) that had threaded BBs, so perhaps they were already changing over by then. I owned a 90 Yo that was pressed in-"z" serial number.

No worries. All three of my 91's were press-in, and my '92 was threaded is all. Do you remember the serial for your '91?

No, I know what you mean...hmmm, I'll look though my files/photos; I tend to snap photos of the serial numbers. I've owned a dozen different fats over the past four or five years, so I might be wrong :oops:
