Fat Chance Titanium

The oem tooth pics are easily bent from what i gleaned. Its never happened to mine but if i wanted zero risk from chainsuck I would bolt on a Bontrager type anti chain suck plate, see pics.

No toothpicks on my 93, always used a Ringle plate.

EDIT- mines earlier than the eBay one so it’s obviously a time thing, very early ones don’t have.
it’s similar to the treatment of the headtube with later ones having clear headtube rings welded on and earlier ones don’t. These bikes were obviously in constant evolution as the changes over the years are very marked!

Interesting mine is frame no. 013 ( see images below) , and does not feature the toothpick mounts either… Interested to know more about the headset ‘rings’. My frame has weld beads running around the top & bottom of the headtube - which was never certain was intended to act as reinforcements , or somehow adapt the titanium tubing to fit 1inch headset diameter?

Watching this auction with interest to gauge a approx. value of mine.

I'm surprised it is still available (usually it went fast). Isit because it is missing the toothpick attachment?

Most likely a distress sale and likewise many people are in the financial do do so there are no takers unless its given away. Vultures wait at times like this.
