I have had this fork in my parts bin for a few years. Originally, I thought this to be a Fat Chance fork but honestly am not sure. The fork came off of a 92’ Stumpy Pro that a Swiss guy used to race in the early 90’s. When I bought this guys old race bike, the brother brokered the sale as the racer was deceased. The only info I got from the brother was ‘he bought the fork when it came out and my brother paid a ton for it’.
The assumption of the fork being a Fat is entirely my own from initial and cursory searching for a few days after acquiring the bike then placing the fork in parts storage and forgetting about it. Very recently another member here made a comment on the possibility of a Tange Ultralight Strut/Fat City collaboration from the early 90’s. However after having a look, there are no Tange markings and no center hole in the crown.
At the dropouts, “Shimano” is visible. Other than that, there are no stickers or stamping. Total weight is 820 grams! All measurements are in mm cause science… the photos showing the length of the legs AND the overall length are MINUS 100 mm (i.e. I burned 100 with the tape measure to be more accurate). Fork size is for a 26”.
