Fat Chance 1992 Yo Eddy Rebuild

Re:

Please could you give Gil the vitals of the fork patent decal for posterity?

Your attention to detail is as ever amazing & those hubs ooh la la !

Re:

Looking forward to seeing what you plan for the brake callipers; strip, re-anodise, re-build and what did you mean “New York style” brake discs?

Lastly… what adapter are you planning on using to mount the Rockshox brakes to the ISO brake tabs (assuming you’re still going to use them)?

Thank you :D Do you think the hubs will look as cool in purple ... ;-)

Brake calipers, pending a successful trial strip down, will be purple with black fixtures :D

"New York Style" brake disks ? You lost me on that one, perhaps predictive text got the better of me ... The NOS ones (off expresso) have slotted holes, the one of you has round holes ? I don't know which is older or 'better' ? :?

The caliper holes match the mounts. The horizontal spacing should be easy with shim washers aided by the sliding calliper design. The vertical spacing might be a bit more tricky but I am sure some custom mounts can't be that hard to design ? Famous last words ...

Re:

I'm sure someone will pull me up if this is wrong but I believe the slotted ones are the AMP version and the one with holes are Rockshox’s.

Again, based on an assmption I think AMP sold their IP to Rockshox, who in turn made some modifications to the D1 calliper (fins, gold ano etc) and changed the disc design.

3DV with silver fins would look cool. Looking forward to reading your write up on their rebuild as I might follow you down that route; just need to find two seal kits...

These are the new cable stops, the closest matching style I could find :

Thanks – I think I prefer the look of the AMP disks but I suppose I should match the callipers and go with the Rock Shox … We will see … ;-)

I am hoping that the seals can be removed in OK condition / good enough to measure and source equivalents locally anyway ...

It’s the Paragon ones I got ! (its where the calliper mounts came from too). The paragon stops have the weld tabs on the side though – that’s what Rampage machined off for me

I did my 'little' bit for the fat chance kick starter and although they got the decal colour right  this wasn't a good start ...

But here are my rewards :

I know there are a few on here that coughed up, some of them on frames too ...

Whilst I am posting clothing, this lot might as well get added to the thread :D

I think this is the newest and a UK only design ?

Not sure of the age of these designs :

This is my favourite :

I have matching shorts and NOS gloves :

If anyone has the other design for sale or any of the larger sizes ...  drop us a PM ... ;-)

I picked up this crank so I had the flexibility of a five bolt spider :

I didn't really need the arms but the buyer wouldn't split - I guess they will come in useful though as spares ;-) It could actually be quicker to swap the drive side arm over (they are 175mm like the others) than swap the spiders ... ? :D

I am pretty sure it's Shimano but I am not sure what it is off and it has no part numbers on it ?

It looks like it needed a little tweak to clear the back of the xtr arm and allow it to fit flush :

I have found out that you could get an XTR five arm from Shimano but I don't think mine is an original XTR due to the mod ?

I haven't stripped it yet but I will neaten that mod up somewhat when I do :D
