fat bottom (bracket) question

Gazz, could try Rody at Groovy. He does the collars and bearings.

problem is kaiser, that the cranks touch the stays so as dyna says I need a 127 spindle not the 118 that I have on now. Rody apparently does not do the spindles. What are the names of those bb that don't need threads and are they any use?

Just a thought
An axle is an axle, would you say they are any different to the bog standard seperated cup,bearings/axle you see on 'very cheap or older frames
Its just ,i service loads of these and we replace one with another as they all more or less appear to be the same

Or phone Mr bain, hes bound to have one or access to order one in

better than going to those 'fly by night' guys down at gear
[who keep a 2"x3" inch box to keep the spares in,IE dont go to them looking for odds and ends cos they aint got none

The problem with using a normal cup and cone style axle is that it has a cone in the casting on the axle. The axle that is used in the bracket I have in a solid axle with no shoulder for the bearings to run on and can be fitted with the cups fitted in the frame. I might have a look and see if a TA axle will work. Otherwise I might have to get a standard BB axle and get the old lathe up and running!

Get that lathe up and running :D

Your right it is a straight spindle and I did find a place in the states that do them but at $95 was to steep for me.
