Afternoon all,

The drive side cup that aparently was 'hot glued' into the frame for the bottom bracket has come adrift. Its a 92/3 Revolution 200GS). The LBS has tried to stick it back in with araldite but it didn't stick - lasted about 3 miles before I could feel some play, looked down and it's popped out about a cm (less than it did the first time).

Has anyone had any joy with either re-bonding the cup back into the frame, if so what did you use?

Or has anyone managed to (or got any suggestions on how to) replace or update the BB?

If I don't get this sorted the bike could be a write off which would pi55 me right off.

Argos cycles can machine the BB out and replace with a steel threaded insert, bringing it in line with modern technology. About £150 IIRC.

You might try this Helicoil repair service from Eastside Bikes in Edinburgh...£50 + £25 carriage if required. You'll have hardened stainless steel BB threads.
