I think they did alternative colours. The only reference I could find anywhere to a white one was (or so he said at least) a 1985. I'm pretty sure there were black ones in 86 too.
There's a photo of it on other forums. I don't think it's still running though so yours looks like the only white one still in existence/on the web.
