Picked this up for £26.

It will be mainly used for going to work and the gym on.

Bit perplexed by it. Guy I brought it off got it from some tyre place he used to work at or by? They did a few bikes on the side and parts were cheap and plentiful, apparently the frame was brand new then and he could have it, and it was promptly built up for him with Wienmann brakes, Rigida Chromix 27 rims, Malliard hubs, Huret shifters, huret front mech, shimano altus rear mech, SR contact points and Chainset.

No signs of what steel it is, but the Lugwork on the headtube is quite fancy? see my instagram...

Also came with full length mud guards which i've taken off to give a good clean and straighten out.

It also came with, but were never attached Falcon stickers and head badge...

...but the scorpio stickers are blue, no white backing, so how were they ever intended to go on a blue frame?

Anyway, apart from some new tyres, it's not in too bad a shape and polishes up quite nicely. There is a minor dent on the down tube near the bb and a bit of rust here and there.

But overall for 26 quid can't be bad?

Any idea where it may have been made?

Cheers

Keith

Probably a Tange steel job made abroad somewhere, I've seen another frame like it on the internet with same headtube junction lugs, but seemingly without the cut out bits at top and bottom, is this something they would have gone at length to do abroad?

and why are my scorpio decals blue if the frame is blue? Mystery!

I have a 70's Falcon and after that they sort of lost the plot on what they were doing........I thought the Scorpio in the 80's was mainly white so the blue decals would show up.

Nothing Falcon ever did surprised me.......

thanks for the feedback, i must admit the scorpio lettering is very of the time, so i can't see them ever getting put on it! Infact tempted to leave it all off.

Hi Keith,

I know this is old, but do you have a frame number? Sometimes this is useful to determine the frame manufacturer.
