I have been given a Falcon Cotswold bike.
I estimate is is from the 1990s but it is fitted with cantilever brakes and at some point I believe the downtube shifters were replaced with Shimano RSX shifters.
The shifters have resisted all my attempts to clean including soaking for a week in white spirit so have to be replaced.
Im not sure whether to replace the RSX shifters or to revert to downtube shifters.
