Faded clear lacquer coat solutions ?

My Mercian Olympic ( 1980 ) has its original blue paint with white panels . It has an age related patina , ie a few knocks and scrapes
but does not justify the expense of a respray . However the clear lacquer coat is showing distinct signs of fading/discoloration ?

I wonder if anyone has had a similar problem ? I was thinking that it might be possible to revive the lacquer with T-cut or similar ?

No harm in trying t cut, there are some rubbing compounds that are more aggressive if the T cut doesn't seem to do anything. I'm not a paint expert but there are some pads that you can buy as well that are like flexible like very, very fine wet and dry.
