F4 BLT legs repaint? Updated

Im going to have the legs of my f4 BLT resprayed. Ive been looking at the legs and wondering if regular paint stripper works on that surface.
(its the same finish the f3 XC has)

Not sure myself but if you do strip them let me know what's underneath as I've considered stripping and polishing but not had the balls.

They are anodized. (both the f4 and the F3 XC)
Whats the correct way to remove ano?

or is it even necessary since im going to apply primer and then paint it ending with a clear coat..

I did see a set of forks on here a while ago that the owner has applied some sort of carbon tape too that looked really good. No idea what the tape was or where to get it from, but it could save you painting over the original finish. Thinking about it, maybe it was some car detailing stuff? Halfords would know more I'm sure. I might do it myself now I've thought about it, but my worry would be creating an invisible join in the tape?

I think ill pass on the tape since im planing to have them painted & clear coated :) Fluro yellow like the front triangle, stem & handlebars :)

You should be OK with painting, but make sure that they're not heated much in any way during the process.

The crown, canti bosses and dropouts are bonded to the legs with epoxy. Anything over about 65 degrees C will harm the bonding.

All the best,

came out rather nice... :)
Now just to get them clearcoated
