Hi very long shot but does anyone have any pictures of Steve Jones and his bikes from the late 80s
I own one of his bike frames which I bought from Brian Rourke I am trying to find out which team he was riding for as the frame was resprayed by Rourkes and I would like to have it resprayed in team colours I have spoken to Steve Jones but he wasn’t sure he said possibly pms Dawes or Falcon
Thanks

Thank you for replying unfortunately it’s not the same as in the colour picture
mine has the race number lug and internal rear brake cable also mine is Reynolds 531 professional
thanks again

It looks like the Dawes frames did have a number tab, but it is difficult to see in the few color pics I could find:

'87 team bikes:

Some great pics there. Some of the frame please!

and … Peugeot 505 Estate! (I learnt to drive on a 504 estate. gear lever was as long as a park bench)

that’s a great pic and from what I can see it looks very similar to mine as it has the same style rear brake bridge but can’t be sure My only other thought is if my frame could be from Steve’s last season with kjc carpets but I can’t find any pictures anywhere

a couple of pictures of my Steve Jones frame there’s no frame number just SJ stamped on the bottom bracket and fork steerer

^That is a nice frame!

But the internal brake cable routing is not something I am seeing on the Dawes team bikes. Could it perhaps have been added later, prior to the repaint?
