EWR Ti 29er

Picked this up as a frame about a year ago and I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of the finished project. It's an EWR (Eastern Woods Research) E-Motion Ti 29er made by Lynskey. The frame is used but I built it up with all new parts including:

SRAM 2x10 drivetrain (X0 and X9)
Formula brakes
Stans ZTR Arch EX wheelset with Maxxis IKON tires
Thomson stem and seatpost
Chris King headset
Niner carbon handlebar
Rock Shox Reba 29er

It's a joy to ride and crazy light. It hits the scales at a scant 23.8 lbs.

I'm a bit 'meh' where 29ers are concerned (not anti - just meh!) but that looks ace Although my Dekerf is great to ride I lack any kind of standover clearance so the EWR design appeals to me.

Thanks for the compliment! Yes, the frame design definitely provides more clearance than a typical sloping top tube would.

Very nice, even though 29ers are not for me I do love an EWR. I tried to contact them last time I was on the lookout for a new frame with no response - are they still in business?

Agree with you there. Not ridden one yet so there must be something in it, but not for me.

That does look cool though, got to get me some Ti

If and when you ride one, you'll know what all the noise is about.

That's a damn fine build and I have noted where you have your shifters and am about to scoot down to the garage and see if that will work on my KTM, as the one thing I am unhappy with (as a dyed in the wool grip shift used) is the shifter position.

Thanks, fellas. There's definitely a "plushness" to the bike due to the titanium and the S bend seatstays.

I have the Avid Matchmakers which allow you to mount the shifters with the brake levers on the same clamp. Cleans up the bars a bit and gives you some more flexibility in shifter location.

I'm using Shimano SLX brakes, so that option was not open to me. However, I moved the shifter mount from inside the brake mount to outside, and now all is well.

I don't think they're making frames any longer. They don't even have a storefront on their website now. Keep an eye on Ebay as the frames pop up once in a great while.
