Try it. Conti tyres are bloody tight on everything anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if a set of those fitted. And if not, well, you've had fun winding up the people with big internet voices.

As the wise sages say, nothing to do with theory really, just a question of different dimensions.
I can't see why you wasted any time trying to get a good fit from the 27incher. Sure there may be some uber tight 27inch tyres that are struggle to get onto the 27inch rim, but would you trust this on cornering, and that's said with a small internet voice.

The tyre wouldn't even stay on the rim, so cornering would be tricky! lol
