I thought we had put this to bed Ian. It doesn't matter how many Rourkies you have - you've got to let it go! :D

I had to stop myself reminding you on Steve H's Facebook post last night too,

The camping was a bit of a joke not being able to park the car by the tent you don't get that with other campsites I've used.
I've never been to a festival that lets you park by the tent.

I agree on the rest though, much more commercialised this year, a bit too big. And we had to queue in Tideswell for an hour to get our food. The whole experience just wasn't as enjoyable as 2015.

I'll probably keep going but only because of the location. I have loads of friends and family in the area. I would like to see alternatives pop up though, might give EB something to think about.

Weekend vintage festival 8-10 July - L'ancienne is on Sunday 10th July

Le Trois Lacs - 81km + 1215mtrs: Now we’re talking! A proper, old school challenge. Don’t be fooled by the stats, on vintage steel, this will be a proper day out. A stunning ride, with lakes, iconic passes and a castle thrown in for good measure. If you’re looking for a gold medal, you even have to do the final 3km loop to the famous Sir John Barrow Monument at the end…outstanding!

I'm signed on for it already looking forward to this hoping for sunny weather so I can ride my Perry

you are right! forgotten!!! (supposed to be a joke rather than another moan about queing! ) and see you on the Rourkie ride?

Well just to add my two pennies worth........ My thoughts are the same as whats been said.

For me the rain and the mud did spoil it, but having said that apart from cancelling it I don't really know what else they could have done to stop the mud. And every one still seemed to have a good time. Its just I've never been a fan of the Glastonbury type festival :)
I had a few personal issues at home so couldn't stay over in the end just had to do the Friday and Sunday.
I was annoyed as was every one that us prepaid ticket holders had to queue again to get in while pay on the day moved quicker (3 people to check in over 4500 people ... madness imho).
And trying to get into the parking was a night mare took me over 2 hours to do the last 10miles into Bakewell and on to site Friday.

I don't mind the whole life style thing as I think it helps to keep it going, what does annoy me is that with the addition of an extra 1000 riders (min) so £60,000 extra the goodie bags were no where near as good as last year, the food stops weren't as good both in lay out and what was on offer. And Chatsworth was a real let down.

A lot of people I spoke to on the day felt it had become to big which is a shame. And having to walk threw that mud at the end did my head in.

Having said that I still massively enjoyed the ride and will no doubt do it next year, although will I stay over I don't know ...... probably so I can catch up with all you guys as I had wanted to this year.

Hopefully next tear we will get the weather and they will take it back to more how it was last year.

Oh and has any body heard about what looked like a rider who had had a serious off towards the end ?

When we came to the end around 3.30ish there was an ambulance at the bottom of the last road decent and what appeared to be a cyclist laid out trying to be resuscitated.
