The early Eroica Britannia events looked pretty cool. (...)

They did. Which was the reason for mrs non-fxie and myself to take a week off and cross the Channel to participate in 2018. Our stay in Bakewell was really lovely, the ride was OK, but the rest of the event in the meadow missed the mark by some margin. "Fun for the whole family" wasn't what we'd come for.

I would have never paid the amount they charged to ride round public roads in the peak district .
The proper York rally offered much more in the way of value .

...be mildly annoyed

Saw some 8 speed wheels advertised as Eroica-ready the other day - I mean who's ever going to need 8 speeds?
