Cycles Clements is still a fine shop in Ledbury.
Or it was there fairly recently.
Ernie was a nice old chap and really knew his stuff.

hi there wilf..

its certainly mid eighties/early ninties and built at the ledbury workshop.. if you can locate the frame number it will give you its age. mines under the bb and could easily be hidden by a cable guide. my guides run over the top of BB so the frame number is on show.

NICE bike bud!!! glad to see another...

theres also a few clements owners/threads over on http://www.bikeforums.net.. have register to look at the pics tho :(

also ive added my 'ernie' into the data base over at http://velobase.com as it was seriously lacking in clements info. your head badge isnt there either!. bit of a rigmarole to get to the status needed to be able to add frames/badges etc to be honest but the site is a great date base so it was worth the effort....

the shop is still there in ledbury and is now run by Ernies son Edward

can you tell ive been digging?? lol

Thanks Zotty,
You are right, there is a cable guide under the bottom bracket. It looks like it is in place by a rivit.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether it is removable (and can be put back) so I can see if there is a frame number?

Wilf

hmmm a rivet points at stuck there lol. and would mean drills and things and thats aside from stripping out the bb etc :(... maybe its worth a call to the ledbury shop. see if they can shed any light on it..
