...They're all out to get you! Stopped off at a place today called the 'Fox & Hounds'. Red Telephone Box outside, flower tubs and all very quaint, got inside & the ceiling is draped in football scarves, with a very English Boozer feel. Couple in the corner eating Pie & Chips...That's where it ended. Pint of Guinness & Pint of IPA '$18 Please! Would you like a menu?' Took a look & cheapest on was a Cornish Pasty at $20!!!! Where in the UK have they done price comparisons?...As my Mate says...always got your trousers down! (No offence to the Ozzies on here, but it's eyewateringly expensive at the moment...)

They tend to fall over when it comes to decent beer too, preferring to produce intentionally cloudy or fizzy ice cold cr@p.

It's ten years since I was working out there for a month though, and there were $3 to the £ back then.

ah you are missunderstanding an english pub (or irish..or well whatever "pub" you can think of) is a boutique pub down here and therefore must be super duper expensive or it wouldn't be cool.

I was over there last month and go back out in a couple of weeks for another month.

And you're right, it's hideously pricey just now. And I couldn't find Guinness

Definitely going to try this!

I have family in NZ and I wondering where the nearest pubs are etc. I'm going over to visit them at the end of this year.

Whenever I've been living abroad though I always hear of Irish pubs, not english ones...

I can't wait to try these out :)
