Electronic cigarettes

What about a vaporizer ?
I've seen mini ones you could just pack with a bit rolling tobacco rather than what most folk would use these for.
I'm thinking that if they clean your smoke right out to only give the good stuff if packed with weed then surely the same applies to tobacco.

The vaporiser is so you can smoke weed WITHOUT using the harmful tobacco....tobacco even in it's most natural unadulterated form is dangerous, the people including many children who pick it often get Green Tobacco Sickness (GTS) .
check out a few of these links, http://searcht.aol.co.uk/aol/search?s_i ... 20SICKNESS

With so many varities of flavour for the e cigarettes its got to be worth a dabble, at worst you spend 30 quid and have another thing cluttering up your desk. It might just be the crutch that helps you quit though.

Couple of lads I know have 'em. One has not smoked a real tab for over a year, the other is down to one real one before bed. Both think the electric smokes are great.

I had a blast and must say they work and would be the route I go down if I decide to stop.

But that's the thing! There is no need to find a crutch. If you stop smoking, nothing bad will happen. It's not like stopping yourself from eating. I've not smoked a cigarette for the best part of ten years, and it hasn't killed me. I just don't think about it anymore.

I think the stronger your personality and intelligence, the harder it is to listen to the sanctimonious buggers that tell you to stop; unless you live in a cave it's impossible not to know the risks, harping on about them isn't helpful to anyone. Anti smoking adverts on TV used to make me smoke more.

Honestly, don't listen to any of it. Just do it and get on with your life.

Agree chris, don't really care what anyone else thinks and will stop when I want to. Have also thought that it's possible just to stop. simply don't have another one!

the argument about lost revenue through tax is weak in the long run, as in the last few years more money is being spent to treat smokers than is being received back in tax.
Are you sure / do you have something to cite, there?

I was always under the impression that the tax revenues gathered more than paid their way (and then some...) but have taken that as read for some time - so willing to be proved wrong?

I've certainly heard it said a few times recently, although I couldn't quote you an accurate source off the top of my head. I think what it boils down to is a lot less people smoking - instant drop in taxes, keeping someone alive with an iron lung/cancer treatments etc - very expensive.

Also, in reference to Silverclaws and the eating thing - I read a while ago about the myths surrounding giving up smoking and putting on weight. Basically fags change the way your body processes sugar - you stop smoking and your body craves sugar, so you eat , so your appetite goes up and stays up. If you manage to control the urge to eat, the pangs only last a couple of days and you should be fine.

Dyna, keep going mate, everytime you don't smoke a fag you're getting there, good on you!

Would it work for tobacco though ? Might help the man out if they do.

Its unlikely as the vapouriser would 'vapourise' the harmful additives too.
Best drop the whole tobacco this and [as said] try to rely on just the nicotine content till im clear of tar or at least partly thereof.then drop that

Strange thing
I have a pal who smokes the occasional joint with tobacco/toasted tobacco in it but doesnt smoke cigarettes or tobacco alone. He never has :?

I have similar mate but he smokes dope every night with L&B tobacco in it, never smoked a real fag in his life though. My missus smokes but can stop at will seemingly pretty easy. Strange!

I think despite all the man up comments, I feel like you, accept the lesser of two evils. How many people try to quit and fail? Almost all I know!
Assuming I can't or don't want to give up nicotine, it would be better to be free of the rest of the crap although I would like to try to keep the 'dose' similar.

My boss smokes his e-fag at his desk and has been fag free for 12 months or more. He has slowly elevated his way up to a model that costs £75 but he says the long term satisfaction is there.

Gotta want to give up though and in my case I don't want to, I love it. That said I am thinking about the electric if I can get the satisfaction out of it.

Talk to him about it and see if you can get the lesser models off him to try it out for yourself
Chances are if i go this path ill opt for the good quality rechargeable ones first.
I'd be very interested to hear his thought and experiences on it :?
