I’ve just been stripping a set of Rock Shox Judy and on the back of each leg is this sticker for Iddon Zeds - which I’m assuming (dangerous thing) relates to the springs.

Doing a quick search here pulls up the fact they were more than LBS or service agent , now I’ve heard of Speed Springs and Wing Springs but were Zeds a UK alternative ?

The legs are off to be repainted but I saved a sticker just encase someone tells me they were a well known player back in the day

The name 100% rings a bell, but buggered if I can remember why?

I suspect I was looking at them in 96 for my judy xcs, but when my Damper blew, I went for a set of Englund air carts instead.

Re:

Spud, i had Iddon Zeds springs in my Judys that were on my Orange C16r. Iddon was the surname of the guy who designed/ made them and he was british but thats all i know.

Re:

Paul Iddon was the man producing them.
He has a significant motorcycling background.
A few of us were using Zeds in our Judys under sponsorship deals around '95/'96 - I still have a set or two somewhere for my Judy DHs.
Were there any in those SLs or just the stickers? I never thought to look!

They had springs although both legs were pretty much shot - which was fine as I have two almost nos stantions to replace them and a rebuild kit for the metal rebound cartridge.
Took a while to get them apart but worth the effort and then off for paint - the arch was in bad shape and upon closer inspection was actually a gold one that someone had sprayed Yellow but the colour match was really good- just hope the complete repaint is a realistic/faithful colour match. Signal Yellow is very close but not right - I’ve also read that Sulphur Yellow is another option

BTW - I did advertise in the wanted section for a cheap Knackered set of forks so none of the above is a dig at Once a Hero - I got what I wanted for a fair price
