Edge of the road

Ah that's good - I was trying to be polite but that one's hideous! Turbo could look spot on, although I think something leather would be my first choice, B17 or such. All very personal in that area of course...

Used to get hangers from jamabikes on here but afraid his stash is no more :( Sure Google will turn some up.

I presume the seatpost isn't at it's actual height? Looks like about sixteen vertical inches to the drops!

I like it. I did a very similar thing with a Breezer Sky that I bought off Huntso. It served me well as a winter road bike, commuter and pseudo-cross bike for 3 years before being returned to original MTB spec.

I'd always rather see a bike being used, even if it is a slightly different use than the manufacturer intended, than becoming a garage queen.

Well done. I do hope you enjoy it.

The high rise stem just doesnt look great i think, with drops.

True, but it does put the bars in the right position. :D

If you puck a randonneur bar shape lie a 3T Forma, then the shorter reach to the brake hoods allows a longer stem and looks nicer...

Hi folks. Pedro, I've managed to find a fork mounted brake hanger, Edinburgh cycle co-op have them. Thanks for that, it'll look much better. Don't like the saddle either! Used to like Spesh BGs, but for some reason they became eye-wateringly uncomfortable a few years ago. Don't know what I'll get for it yet.

The saddle height in the pics is way too high! I just put the post in the frame and tightened the clamp bolt. May flip or even change the stem, will see how it goes. The bars are staying though, it's become rather difficult to find new non-OS drops, especially in the 44cm width I need

Regards

Marge

Harsh but it made me chuckle!

Glad the hanger's sorted, only taken me eight thousand posts to come up with something useful!

I used to like BG saddles too, still like a toupe or a romin, but they seem very hit & miss :? WTB Silverados on almost everything now, which I think look passable on a retro...

I found drops were just about still around in black (PlanetX were good for them) but really struggled to find silver. 25.4/25.8/26.0/31.8 and something else Italian/Cinelli specific perhaps, 26.2 or 4? Drove me mad a while back! Roadies - make us lot look organised

Just ordered a saddle for the Edge OTR. Selle Italia XO. Have run one on my CAAD 8 for a while, and done around 1000 miles on it. Think it'll go well with my retro/modern idea. Would've been nice to go for a Brooks, I've got a B66 on my Pashley, but they are really bloody expensive. I've spent a fair bit already, and have a feeling it's not over yet. Hoping to get plenty done over the weekend. Would be nice to finish it in time for the eventual Big Thaw, but we'll see.

Regards

Marge

Are they black with white detailing? Should look spot on

Fingers crossed for a quiet weekend, have fun!
