Eddy Merckx Strada 7 Eleven project

Dirt Disciple
Hello everyone đź‘‹,

Finally bought myself an Eddy Merckx frame for which I am in the process of procuring some Dura Ace 7400 components.
I believe it is a 1987 Strada frame (6MT - 4647A) painted in the 1995 colour scheme (1303 FNZ). There is a sticker on the fork head with the paint code so the dram either sat around for a while or was repainted at the factory.
When completed it will be a 7-Eleven colour scheme with period correct 7 speed 7400(ish).
Still need bottom bracket, seat post, new cranks, Cinelli Volare saddle, headset, Cinelli stem, Cinelli bars, brake levers and of course some tan walls.

The break levers seem to be the most problematic to get hold of so if you have a set of aero 7401 levers in decent condition that you will part with, please let me know.

I’ll post some updates as the build progresses.

Cheers,
Si

What is the rear spacing? If it is a 95 I would guess 130mm which may mean you need to reset it for 7 speed...or do the quick release up really tight!

It’s 130mm but I’m running 8 speed hyperglide hubs with the 7 speed and a spacer.
Gives me the option of changing the gearing up in the future should the need arise.
