This looks like my old Merckx.
bought new. ( in the early 1990s iirc)

the paint was a special variation of several styles
Many many miles on it including
Pyreneans randon
Paris Roubaix randon
Dolomites randon

replaced with a carbon Trek in 2000

Cannot help but agree -whoever did this drilling is an idiot..... seriously compromised the structural integrity of this dropout,,,,absolutely guaranteed to fail & leave the rider at risk....should immediately be withdrawn from sale.....

I don't agree it should be withdrawn. But it should be advertised as spares or repair, not a rider
