Celebrate the start of this year's Giro with a triple crown painted Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra. £750 or best offer.
Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra Columbus SLX new. 54 cm by 54 cm. Dura Ace 8 speed cassette, cranks and brakes. Campagnolo seat post. Handmade in Belgium, frame number F7592. Later 3T bars and stem added using quill adaptor (I wanted a wider bar at the time). Wheels professionally handbuilt about 1997 using Shimano Ultegra hubs and Mavic Open Pro rims. Great bike with a classic steel ride, could easily be built as Erocia bike. Paint job celebrates Eddy Merckx's triple crown of 1974 with wins in the Giro, Tour de France and World Championships.
Purchased new in (approx) 1994 and built with Shimano Dura Ace for racing in the Surrey League, occasional use since 1999 and unused since approx 2012. Always stored dry. Good condition with a few paint chips. Touch-up paint applied on chips around bottom bracket (approx 1997) to tidy up, this had discoloured so as you can see I've taken down to the metal to ensure there was no rust.
Sorry, no saddle or tyres. Seat post moves freely, freshly greased.
Collection from near Stonehenge or postage.
