I have a Mongoose MX7 frame also.
Yes the Xizang wa polished and handmade..where as the Lightening was unpolised and machine made.

I was purchasing a Xizang in 91...but had been waiting a year for it to arrive!!...In the end I got feed up waiting.....so I brought the lastest GT bike frame at the time....GT RTS1 Team...Cost me £995.
Juliana ("Juli") Furtado had just ridden the frame to World Downhill & World Cross Country titles..same bike for both!!..an RTS1....Correct me if Im wrong.....She is my mountainbike hero....she was just fantastic!
