Ebay quickie

I never understood the removal of the sellers right to reply but it's definately time to return it

unpaid items, people changing their mind, no communication is a nightmare and then when they do fail to pay ebay make you wait at least 7 days and by that time the second highest bidder has normally moved on

Ebay though is and has never been about listening to it's users

Ebay is definately a last resort when I want to sell something. I didn't mind the small listing fee, but 10% of sale value is a bit steep.

I love e-bay. Haven't ever lost a bidding.

Really? How so?

I watch the bids then bid very very high knowing it wont get near my OTT bid
That only takes someone else doing the same thing to seriously backfire. Unless you bank on not paying in that scenario.

Which would render your system a bit shit.

Hasn't failed me (yet)
I've noticed that every body on the bay wants to buy on the cheap. So they bid close to the old bid. So within 20 seconds bid very high.

This very thing happened to one of the macretro riders[who shall remain nameless]He bid very very high not thinking anyone else would do the same.

That goes without saying. As does bidding high.

But bidding very high e.g. £200 on a £50 item (which is what you're implying) is stupid imo. There's no foolproof system to Ebay, everybody's got their method or 'system' and there's probably thousands doing the same as you. All it takes is for two of you to bid on the same thing and one of you is paying way over the odds by the sound of it.

I avoid Ebay at all costs. Having been a powerseller, top rated seller and buyer I can safely say it's overpriced for sellers and a lottery for buyers. Unless you're buying form a big seller/shop. Why bid up when on Gumtree or a shop you can haggle down? (I realise that sometimes Ebay is the only place to get something but forums like this and category specific alternatives e.g. Discogs for music means it's rarely the case for me).

Thank you for your opinion. Didn't say it was 'fool proof'
It works for me as i bid for goods that i want not what i can buy cheap.
