not as far as i know. when people gift me for stuff on here, i get what i asked for (i.e. no funny amounts like 4% less than what i expected)

only time i've had to pay a fee when gifting is when i've done it to someone abroad (think it was poland..??)

I've always had to pay the gifting fees as a buyer to avoid the seller paying them

gifting usually cost's the sender, or you can make the other person take the hit.

If you have a business account all gifts should be free :?

It depends where the money comes from as to the gift fee or not.

From ebay money or a linked bank account it is free.

If you are paying the gift fee then it's probably credit card or some other method.

But why are you paying the fee if ti makes you? Madness ? Use the Normal paypal and adjust your amount so the seller gets what they expect. You then have protection and other benefits. (ok so it may be a couple of pence more).

Use the calculation sites to work it out.

Ebay fees do make it difficult to buy and sell through ebay, thats why sites like this are invaluble when it comes to trading old parts.

agreed, if i don't want to pay the fees, i use sites like this. simples. although i do wonder when they may change and start charging for the gift option.....
I'm not wingeing; I just don't seem to remember paying paypal fees on Ebay. Ebay fees yes, no problem . Obviously I'm mistaken, and it seems like I've struck a raw nerve.... :p

no raw nerve struck here :) just saying i have never paid a fee when buying something via gift, or never been hit with a fee when receiving via gift. So when i don't want to go through the hassle of selling something on eBay (its not just the fees that put me off :p), i'll use forums like this. especially if its going ridiculously cheap.
I've paid paypal fees when selling stuff (receiving money) via ebay plus the ebay fees via an invoice from ebay.

not sure what this gift fee everyone else is talking about though....??? it may have something to do with a business account. i'm just a normal user with my PP account linked to my bank account :)
