Thanks...just want to see their condition..seems steep, but I've seen a few go this high. Cook Bros stuff seems to get a premium price regularly.

How much?! I've got a mint set of them in my spares box.

for 4x racing the alivio shifter is excellent due to its 1 click shift . none of that going through 3 sprockets with a press of the thumb , you dont want that . one solid movement for one sprocket

either that or " i must win " syndrome

PFFFFTT!!! I have gone thru my share of Alivio. I liken to an AK47. Loose fit and does the job, but noisey and not always accurate. Built cheap in high numbers.

I like alivio ,i had the silent clutch rear, its a bit weird on slick tyres ,not hearing anything
Enables you to creep up on people ,ringing you bell at the last second :twisted:
Personally i thought that stx was the ak-47 as you put it ,of the groupsets
But alivio will always have a place in my heart for being my first decent bit of kit on my first decent bike,with above rear
