Ebay collection only special: Diamondback Apex

Dirt Disciple
My gf is bored shitless with me talking about this, and my mates can barely be arsed to listen, so I turn to rb.

Just picked this up on the bay - for a massive £46, doing relentless local searches and ocd/madness does pay off (occasionally) - just took it out for a quick run then and it can't have done more than 500 miles and the fork lockout works fine - starting to think I prefer it to the clockwork ride wise... which for some reason feels slightly wrong

Yep the best match I can find on bikepedia is a 94:

http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?ItemID=15079&Type=bike

Think the forks (mag21s) must have been added later, and the saddle has been changed otherwise is all period - cassette still has red HG sticker on it and looks almost new

The only lower end stuff is the STX hubs and cantis the rest is LX with bonty bars and onza bar ends, well chuffed with it :)

oh yes is 20" frame but I am lanky so fits alright

A beauty :). You need to take the doofus-plate off from behind the cassette unless you're keeping it totally stock.

i agree - nothing spoils the look of a bike more

some of the cable outers are insanely long too, will give it a proper sort v soon

Frame tubing will be a hint.

If it's TT-Lite I'd say 94 (94 and 95 Apex had TT-Lite framesets). If it's AVR, it's 96.

ah right - yep it is TT-lite, seems like very thin tubing... maybe one day I'll strip it down and check the weight

ive got a 95, and stock it was about 25 ponds ish iirc. such a nice bike. after about 2 years of negotiating i will hopefully be getting it back off my dad soon!
