Ebay carbon forks

I was considering the same ebay forks for a fixie build.

Here! Can't say I was impressed by the packaging but they appear to have made it in one piece. Let's see how long they stay that way for!

Seem to be ally at the crown and then carbon either side for forks and steerer. I expected an ally steerer tbh and can't work out whether I'm happy that they it's carbon or even more scared than I already was!

Think they suit the frame ok!

They look great mate and i would say that they suit the Pace frame amazingly well imvho and if i remember correctly i think likeclockwork had a pair of these with a carbon steerer so it maybe worth you giving her a pm to see what she thought of them ..

Well mate you could always send them to me to try if your that wary but a word of warning as i'm a tad over 15 stone :facepalm: but i am losing weight slowly though ..

I really don't think you should risk riding them. Who knows if any fatigue testing has gone into them and what thickness the carbon is around the are with the alloy insert. Does the steerer stay the same diameter it's entire length and what is the wall thickness?
If it's the same, just think how thin it must be where the alloy crown race seating area is! Not worth risking in my book.

Build that frame up with Pace forks and tough British parts as nature intended then go thrash the trails

Life's full of risks- my optimistic take is that these will be made in the same factory as something more regarded/expensive. The crown race bit will be the same block as the ally crown- it's the bits above and below that I worry about. It's not going to get off road hammer though so we shall see how it holds (me) up.

That's the bit I was concerned about, the fixing of the steererer around the alloy. Let us know how you get on.

I should add that I'm probably more blasé about all this after living in SE Asia for a couple of years: Health and safety wasnt really a concern over there and stuff was cheaper as it hadn't been imported over here for someone to add a decal to and make their profit on. Maybe I'm being naive?
