East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

Sadly I too have an early start ....towing a horse trailer :roll: To a jumping show with our new Eventer on board fingers crossed as it's our first proper show after six months of retraining the horse...I love it really but I am hoping to get a late afternoon ride in if anyone fancies it ?
 
Caythorpe was interesting. Lots of long bridle way stretches with a couple of Ticknall style hills thrown in. 30 miles in total with about 1500ft of climbing.

Did it in 2hrs 33mins with an average speed of 11.64 mph if that gives you an idea of the hard packed terrain. I would imagine that in the mud it would be a bit of a hellish slog.

Just over 100 riders signed up but didn't see anyway net that on he ride.

Still another one ticked off ;)
 
well done :D

Personally my achievement today was to stand in the longest queue I have ever been in. It was literally 10,000 people long and took about 15 minutes walking to get to the end of it, before then joining it and going back in the opposite direction to get in...
