East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

yes tremendous. Will post up route soon.

Got home to find new light waiting for me  looks like Geoff's new one. Report later.

Got home to find my light was working again. The switch definitely clicks and hasn't been dislodged, but it won't run through the bright / dim / disco / off sequence. What happens if I spray the inside with WD40 ? The piggy-bank demands that I repair rather than replace if possible.

I good ride and although not legal, I'd say it's one that generally can be ridden in the day. The only iffy bit is the High rocks section which gets a heavy walker use.

The Thringstone bombholes that Khane refers to I imagine to be the section John and I ventured into last weekend. Best saved for daylight

And what about the plague of frogs....

warren hills rock does have quite a large walker population, however with the amount of dog sh!t up there, if i walker did get pissy at me and they had a dog i'd point out the fact that at least i'm not sh!tting all over the path and leaving it for anyone and everyone to step in.

yet to get a pissy walker though in all the years i've been riding the route. ;)

i've often thought of taking a large carrier bag with me and picking up as much as i can find and leaving it in the middle of one of the gates, as i go over the fence

Route details in the route resource thread.

@Rob - there is an option I found in Viewranger to 'remove spikes' - presumably referring to the supersonic event you experienced yesterday!!

Great ride thanks guys sorry I was late. Rob don't mention the frogs Mat will never join us again.
Try Cree on ebay they have a wide range of lights

Hey guys just became aware of this group. Thinking of joining you when my doctor says I can ride again. All I've got is an 80's Claus butler at the moment but it works, just not very fast. Anyone else from Derby?

hi - welcome over here. As I mentioned before there are a few of us from Derby - Legacy555, Captaincosmic and myself to name but 3 regulars, with others from Nottingham, Ashby, Coalville, Shepshed etc coming along regularly. We all meet up every Tues eve usually at Ticknall village Hall car park at 7pm. The venue does change occasioanlly so keep an eye out here. They get announced in green. We also do occasional weekend rides which will get announced on here as well. You can check some of the rides we've been doing here on our route resource.

Your bike sounds fine, we don't care what you ride (even modern), we're just out to have fun on bikes and even better with a pub at the end of the ride ;)
