unocogero Retrobike Rider Feedback View Sep 18, 2011 #3,726 Hey Ed, with this ghetto tubeless business have you come across the problem that you get a hole so big in the tyre it won't seal? I have pulled a thorn out and rejuiced inside the tyre but it's just leaking out latex.

orange71 Retrobike Rider Gold Trader Feedback View Sep 18, 2011 #3,727 The biggest I had were hawthorns which sealed ok after a few rotations. Geoff had a couple of big ones that meant inserting a tube. I'm not ghetto currently on the new bike (yet)...

unocogero Retrobike Rider Feedback View Sep 18, 2011 #3,728 I'm wondering whether with bigger holes the tyre has to deflate to stop air punching through the hole and allow the latex to harden. If so it rather defeats the object! Having said that they have run since May with no punctures.

orange71 Retrobike Rider Gold Trader Feedback View Sep 18, 2011 #3,729 yes i would say that's correct up to a certain size hole. All you have to do is inflate it a bit after 5 mins.
