I couldn't resiste the Wiggle coloured charge saddle and grips to go with the other orange andised bits. Now all I need is some orange chainring bolts.

So simple but still looks stunning

Hello just found this forum and this thread :)

Thought I'd put a picture of my old Saracen up. Not sure it qualifies as early. If I remember right I bought it in '96

Has this got richey or saracen dropouts?

Rears have Saracen and the fronts say Tange, had my first ride on it today, only a mile or so as im not too fit but it was great, felt so light.

My Ebay bargain Saracen Trekker.

Hello, I'm new here. I found this thread on Saracen MTB's and
the amazing amount of replies shows what good bikes Saracens
were. Don't know much about the newer Saracens?
I've been into cycling for around 40 years, mainly racing bikes
and more recently to commute. I have an 80's racer which I made
into a hybrid (straight bars, chunkier tyres etc).
I found this Saracen Trekker on Ebay and won it.
The first mountain bike I've owned but over the moon with it.
The ride is superb and I'm thinking of fitting road tyres for my main commute.

I think it is a late 80's, you may be able to put me right on this?
Shimano Exage 500 / 21 speed gearset.
Front 'V' brake is Exage. Rear is Shimano U-II. Bio pace crank
all in pretty good condition.
Saracen sticker still on down tube but 'Trekker' stickers on cross
bar were badly broken up and messy so I removed them with a
hair drier. I added mudguards, pump etc, a great practicle ride I
like it just as it looks now.
