Early Hope brakes are 6mm hose?

Pretty sure i'm correct with my thinking but can somebody confirm before i buy 3m of hose please.

6mm braided stuff is a standard size so should be readily available........i hope

Hope & maybe others 6mm braided hose uses 5mm olives as the outer is trimmed back & olive is compressed directly onto the braid. The sleeve nut is the only part that is diameter/hose type specific.

So if you are using Hope C2 or early Mini you need to replace all the fittings, if using C2 Sport levers you also need 2 brass washers under the banjo.

The hose diameter is actually not specific, and its only the banjo end that can be 5 or 6.

The fittings for the banjo and banjo itself are thinner, but you can take a 5mm hose(inc 5mm fittings) and fit that.

TBH I dont know if it matters greatly in performance, but ive come across lots of early Hope with mix and match 5 or 6mm hoses/fittings

Hope have 5 and 6 mm compression sleeved for 5 and 6 mm hoses , everything else should be the same so as long as you use the 5mm sleeve you can use 5 mm hose, 6mm braided hose you cut away the plastic sheath and thd braided part id 5 mm
