It would be new to me if I bought it, but other than that it is far from new!

I recently bought something from the seller, and whilst it wasn't cheap, it's worth noting that postage prices are cheaper through ebay than directly on their website - it's usually the other way around to account for fees etc, but that and there was also a 10% off ebay promotion made it almost OK.

It's pretty unique now though isn't it? Seen plenty of '88 onward spesh bikes but the 87 is properly rare and still has that "early days of mtb" feel.

If you are a collector then I could see someone paying the price to fill the gap.

It's certainly in very good condition and the market will determine whether the initial asking price is realistic. However, I note that the listing has been amended and the bike's description now gives the condition as 'Used', so I guess the seller realised that a mistake had been made.
