Offering 1982 Gazelle Champion Mondial AA-Special frame with Nuovo Record headset
This early example of the Champion Mondial AA-Special frame is built using full Reynolds 531C tubing, Super Vitus crown, Bocama long point lugs, ROTO Italy shell and Campagnolo 1010B dropouts. The AA-Special frame is introduced in 1982 as top of the line offering (with the 753). The brake cable runs internally through the toptube. The beautifull ROTO shell is quite unique for the AA-Special, as only the 1st ones came with it. Later examples had a Cinelli shell.
Like all Champion Mondials it is an excellent riding chassis. The frame goes round corners very well and offers the give and reliability you wish on poor roadsurfaces. Typical Dutch criterium style geometry.
The frame is finished in a tasty paintscheme: headtube and seattube panel in contrast colour. Fork and right chainstay are chromed. For the fork this was an option available at extra cost. The graphics are classic. Metal badge.
Handmade in Gazelle's little frame build shop in Dieren, The Netherlands.

Reynolds 531C tubing
Bocama Super Professional lugs
Super Vitus crown
ROTO Italy shell
