That is lovely indeed! a Dekerf is still on the radar for me at some point. I would have considered having that if the stable wasn't full at the moment.

Think that belongs to a past/present member on here looking at the username.... :D

yes , I thought the username was familiar...if it is sane I sold my DeKerf Amp full suss frame to same location some years ago on here!

Re:

Anyone know how this tubing compares to the reynolds?

Regret getting rid of my dekerf, always fancied another. Is this ritchey and tange tubing? My reynolds kona rides so much better than the tange one.

Yeah, it's Ringo's.
Excellent chap and it is a lovely frame.

He sold that AMP yonks ago.

that was a wicked little bike ... I purchased from 'Recylcle Cycles' in Croydon late 1998/9.
added retro vibes for 'selling it yonks ago'!

i would love to bid on this DeKerf but know it to be too small.

In answer to post below about frame tubing...not sure. have ridden Ritchey WCS - Tange (DK FS) / Renolyds 725 (singlespeed) , Renolyds 853 (team Sl / ST) , Renoylds 853 + Colombus Max (Implant)

Loved them all. some survived some some did not...just a personal opinion but I would trust Chris DeKerf's pick of tubing do the job...especially bearing in mind that certain tubing were time (period/ era) specific. Am sure more expert forum folk could give clearer thoughts than mine about this topic!

Re:

Yes, it's mine!

I had begun to wonder if there was still interest for quality 26 inch frames... hence using Ebay to find the current value. I have had offers out of ebay but declined due to being on their naughty step for buying something outside of their platform - and denying them (another) fiver...

Selling for two reasons... firstly, I've always rode a slightly smaller frame (I'm 6ft) and as I head towards 50, I'm finally finding it's not great on my back... Secondly, during lockdown, I've got into Sim racing and if you want to do it properly it ain't cheap!

As for the Amp rear ended one... it was great, I rebushed it and built it... but eventually flogged it to a chap in Canada...

This mountain is a lively ride and despite its smaller size, the larger rider is Ok as the two inch seat tube extension really helps with post length...

Hoping it goes to someone who will cherish it!

Re:

I’ve got the same frame in candy red. I think it’s DEK350 with the same Ritchey WCS by Tange tubing.

It’s still the nicest steel bike I’ve ever ridden on my local bumpy single track. It’s very lively feeling. I’m comparing it to a Yo Eddy and Cotic Simple predominantly.

The Cotic is made from Reynolds 853 and it is excellent. I’d say it feels a bit stiffer but it’s also a much newer tube set, and slightly heavier.

I’d have no worries about buying this DeKerf. It’s my favourite colour and if I didn’t already have the original candy red P2 forks on mine I’d definitely consider buying this.

Re:

These early Dekerfs are bloody lovely! Lively and incredibly quick steering, but very stable at speed. I had one very similar, and 5 other dekerfs too, and the early ones are definitely the best!
Stick some triple butted P2s on it and you're laughing!
If only it was an inch or two bigger...

Re:

Cheers all

Seriously tempting!

So is this ritchey main tubes and tange stays? Or the other way around?
