Dead right Ringo. Plus, seeing all the other bikes hung up is always pretty cool.

Question: Do I search the net and try to find an age related headset in good condition, for sensible money? Or get something new that looks the part?

Re:

I'm guessing the forks are the same colour?
How about a nice silver Campag headset? Don't look too modern and last for years if looked after. Only trouble is, how can you tell if it's in good condition? :?

Re:

You guessed right, and they also have the correct Reynolds decals.

More photos immediately prior to build up, during build up and when finished.

Re:

I thik I may have a new one up in the loft if you're interested Neil.

Re:

Progress at last.

After a false start with an ISO headset and JIS pair of forks, a 1" threaded Velo Orange headset arrived today. It's not the best quality in the world, but it will do for now and looks the part.

So, headset installed, wheels dished and retrued, Vittoria Open Corsa tyres fitted and it's in its way.

Next job bottom bracket, then I need to get some shiny new nuts and bolts for the shifter clamp and brakes, some brake blocks and we'll be cooking on gas.

Sorry about the red on red, but there is no way I'm leaning this against the low concrete wall at the side of my driveway.

Yep. Very nice :). Glad to see you have the rear wheel bang on in the right place.........Just about to fall out of the dropout. We thought bikes went faster that way :D
