Cool Thunderbolt! The bare frame and clear coat would have looked amazing brand new. I had a bare steel frame that I polished and clear coated years back but it had a similar fate with rust.

That's an interesting set up with the Magura rear brakes. Was this frame set up for a rear u-brake originally? There are a few other Thunderbolts that had that set up...The brake posts on yours almost look bent, or possibly modified to work with the Maguras.

Looking forward to updates!

Very Nice bike, looks like it wants to be ridden hard! I think that frame deserves some kind of treatment.

@Blizz
The Magura rear brake setup is the u-brake version. There is noting changed or bent on the u-brake-mounts, they need to look that way. I will replace the Magura with an u-brake next year. ;)

I think the thread needs more pictures. :)

I don't think there was a U-Brake version of the Magura. You can mount a standard bracket upside down, as it seems to be made in this case, too. There might be a tiny bit of filing necessary to them thou. On the backets, mind you. Not on the frame.

No, these are the standard pre evo brackets you have there ;)
I think they are. They sure look like those that came with the hydrostops, for example. I have one or two sets of these.
