***Some dispute over identity of this bike, see comments below***
I'm looking for £200 for this bike (collection only from South Manchester) but am open to offers, I'm no mountain bike expert so I'm just estimating this value based on what I've been told by other people with more bike-knowledge than me! Also I'm not sure whether it's a P7 or a Prestige, or exactly how old it is (I've been told it's probably 93/94).
However I do know that it's a classic bike that could be restored to its former glory by someone with a lot more skill, patience and spare time than I have!!
Check out the photos, I've included a bit more info below:
The bike itself is in working order (I used it for commuting 5 days a week for about a year and it did me fine), it's got Shimano Deore LX / XTs which I believe were the original brakes / gears that came with the bike. I think all the parts are originals apart from the cassette which I replaced about a year ago. The frame is quite small, 19" I think.
However it has a few faults / repairs needed:
Rubber cap is missing from the left side of the forks (see photo)
Bearing sleeve on headset is damaged (see photo)
Saddle is stuck in seatpost (I've been reliably informed by someone working in a bike shop that this can be rectified by feeding oil into the seatpost)
Middle chain ring is absolutely knackered and needs replacing.
The gear shifting isn't very smooth but I'm sure this can be fixed with a bit of calibrating and all-round TLC
Spokes need adjusting as wheels aren't quite straight.
Any other info you need don't hesitate to ask, and I would be happy for any prospective buyers to have a look at the bike in the flesh before handing over any hard-earned cash!
