Early 50s La Gazelle - Eau-de-Nil 🛠️ The Merlot Aftermath 🍷

So a cone with a hole at its top point has more torsional rigidity than a capped to a point cone?!
I'm surprised 🥴
So filling and filing makes it less rigid? I'll never understand structural stuff, thank god others are doing the hard work

But won't that mean that all of these fancy frames technically are more harsh in the rear?

I need a drink

It is now unclear what point you're making.
Right...
So ...
Fancy pancy dropouts with open ended tubing and unfiled/blended drop out tang are more torsionally rigid than a closed off end of tube?

I always believed that any hollow structure...tube,box section that was capped off lost torsional flex due to being capped off!

It's a small point...I'm trying to weigh the benefits of this approach.....weight,joint strength and torsional compliance. All things that obviously as a frame builder you'd consider to trade against each other for benefit gains.

Oh and vcballbat.....I'll take mine with just a flake..😆
