Early 50s La Gazelle - Eau-de-Nil 🛠️ The Merlot Aftermath 🍷

@vcballbat - I got the model name of the stem Mil Remo eventually and dates are proving tricky.

There are two listings on Ebay dating 50s - 60s.

https://www.ebay.fr/itm/175387899159

I can see also the name Philippe moved from a simple engraving on the top, to a more distinct forged style on the sides.

Without a published advert for these stems with a date, or some blurb from a bike show it's going to prove difficult to know for sure.

Many of us change stems for shorter or longer so looking at other bikes is not entirely conclusive.

EDIT:
What I'm actually happy about it is not one of these. The very start of a St Sheldon page got me concerned and I'm glad I noticed.

Anyone else looking in - be careful with old second hand aluminium !

Check, double check and triple check for cracks especially if they are from a racing bike. Be sensible about it all.

I think yours is an early version with the Phillipe branding on top. Maybe Velobase is quoting the later MiRemo branded version sold from the Ron Kitchen catalogue in the 60's & 70's....the yellow one has a Pivo..👍

Spending some time trying to identify the Lyotard pedal model - I thought it was going to be easy, but I'm going to give up.

A great resource:

Also this - all different but some things in common.

These are closest, but mine have oil ports (one of which is missing the cover).

There doesn't seem any model number that corresponds anywhere.

Thankyou woz....you've just solved my pedal mystery... lyotard duralumin! 👍 Unfortunately mine are missing the snap ring that covers the oil port.
