E-bay rant

Yep, ebay's ok as a buyer but from a selling, private seller, perspective its steadily become more of a hassle.
Did you list them as 'parts/broken' or 'used'?

I've had good and bad....I was stiffed once for buying product that never arrived (but was tracked via mail as delivered) and I had to endure 3 weeks of constant phone calls to USPS about it. Finally I actually talked to EBay via phone and explained that I NEVER received the product. THey sided with me as my feedback spoke volumes about the business I had done with EBay. The other time I was the seller and was accused of selling the fake item. I provided the right information and again my feedback helped me win that case as well. It just takes time and sometimes conversing with a phone can go a bit further than sending emails. I would suggest patience and maybe discussing with an agent what the situation is. If you have great feedback and good reputation as a seller and buyer, then it should help you! Make sure you call them before you accept the final decision!

this is why i dont sell on ebay, its good for buying stuff but everything is stacked against you as a seller and ebay sides with the buyer 99% of the time when a case is opened, plus with the fees derducted its not really worth selling your item in the end anyway

i stick to selling bike parts on the forum, ebay is a last resort if i cant sell something and its too good to be binned

I sell a fair bit on ebay. First of all do not sell broken things on ebay as it opens you up to returns. That aside ebay do not always side with the buyer. Sometimes cases have gine against me but i appeal and then then goes my way. It does not happen often but it is when am item gets returned damaged and i an expected to refund, in fact i think it has happened twice in over 10,000 sales. I never have had to provide evidence. Ebay have always been pretty fair but it has taken a phone cal to sort things out. Then again i would not sell someting as spares or repair i would have dismatntled the wheel and sell The rims and hubs. Done that before it avoids complications.

What op did your original say can you post it here Oh and call ebay to tomorrow and ask to put through to the resolutions team.

I had the same issue with a defiant seller staring he has received fake Eau de toilette. I assured him it wasn't but he simply received his money back.

I told him to keep the EDT in the end.....it may of improved his lifestyle!!

Update... Ebay wins!

Three weeks ago I had another conversation with their Resolution Centre and it appeared they were going to reopen my case and I should await their new finding.

Tonight, I had a very brief conversation with a new representative, what a difference! Basically, their decision was unchanged and if I wanted to go legal... Then I should take down an address for Ebay in Luxembourg.

I'm thinking its time to bow out, unless anyone has a silver bullet. The sad thing is I'm not sure how to list my items in future, or should i forget Ebay and try a new site if anyone has some ideas. H
